Bobby O'Donovan hails from Cork City, Ireland, and is a wonderful singer and multi-instrumentalist, playing mandolin, fiddle, bodhran, whistle, bones, spoons - you name it, he probably plays it! He has a long and checkered career playing with numerous groups, including, but not limited to, The Irish Rovers and The Sons of Erin, with whom he played on fifteen albums. They had several hits in Canada, and also a television series in Newfoundland for many years.
He has played all over the world, and has just returned from New Zealand, where he played on a tribute to John Denver tour. He has also arranged and produced several albums since coming to South Florida for Fire in the Kitchen, Jennifer Licko, Tracy Sands and Hugh O'Neill, to name but a few. His webpage is www.bobnoblemusic.com Sometimes they are joined by Shasha Zhang, who was also in the original Fire in the Kitchen. She is a fantastic violinist who can play anything from jigs and reels to any kind of classical music you care to mention. Her busy schedule involves playing with the Palm Beach Pops, Palm Beach Opera, Atlantic Classical Orchestra and the Miami City Ballet, so it is a rare treat when she is available. |
